TFM data collection
Acquiring suitable array data for a specified TFM reconstruction and region of interest.
FULL MATRIX CAPTURE (FMC)
Full Matrix Capture is an ultrasonic data acquisition approach. It records transmit-receive combinations across an array so that the data can be processed into images, including with the Total Focusing Method.
Request a FMC proposalHOW THE METHOD WORKS
During a typical FMC acquisition cycle, an array element transmits while the available elements receive, and the sequence repeats across the array. The resulting A-scan matrix can be processed using selected imaging algorithms. FMC is the recorded data foundation; the interpreted image and acceptance decision depend on subsequent processing and an approved method.
WHERE IT MAY HELP
Acquiring suitable array data for a specified TFM reconstruction and region of interest.
Maintaining a documented acquisition record where the project scope requires later processing or re-evaluation.
Evaluating acquisition settings and imaging approaches against relevant reference reflectors before an examination.
Applications are illustrative. Suitability depends on the component and approved inspection procedure.
SCOPE DEVELOPMENT
Send available drawings or specifications with the details below. IAIS can use them to review coverage, calibration, site arrangements and reporting requirements.
TECHNICAL CONSIDERATIONS
FMC is an acquisition method, not a stand-alone flaw classification or acceptance criterion. Data size and capture time can increase substantially, and a useful result depends on setup, processing and qualified interpretation.
PROJECT ENQUIRY
Share component drawings, applicable code or specification, location and schedule. The team will review the technical basis before proposing a method and execution plan.
